New Look

December was a good month for the nail industry, with the number of manicures and pedicures performed up on last year’s figures. Retail business also grew for nearly a quarter of you, thanks to clients investing in homecare products such as cuticle oils and nail strengtheners to keep their nails in top condition between appointments.

Updating your prices this year could be a priority, with 43% of you admitting that you haven’t had an increase for two or more years. While competition from low-priced nail bars is growing, charging what you’re worth is vital to keep your business profitable. Many of you are also looking to extend your treatment menus, with 24% now offering stamping nail art.

Check out the latest nail news on page 149, which includes an exclusive look inside Sweet Squared’s new HQ.
