Hair and beauty jobs in Ireland soar by 56%
The hair and beauty industry in Ireland saw a 56% increase in jobs last year, with positions up a massive 105% compared to the same period five years ago, according to data from Ireland jobs board Jobs.ie.
Broken down by category, jobs for beauty therapists, make-up artists and spa therapists increased by 186% in 2017, while jobs for hair professionals, including hairdressers, barbers, stylists and lash techs rose by 6% in the same period, the report found.
“Public consciousness of fitness and wellness is contributing to a general sense of ‘healthy body, healthy mind’,” said Christopher Paye, general manager at Jobs.ie. “Ireland’s hair and beauty sector has clearly benefited from these market trends.”
