Professional Beauty North 2018

1 PB North will host a SALON AND SPA NETWORKING LUNCH in conjunction with the PB Regional Awards 2018 for the first time this year. Salon and spa directors are invited to join a networking forum where they can discuss challenges and share solutions among like-minded professionals. Leading salon and spa owners including Awards finalists will be hosted by the PB team, industry experts and key sponsors. The lunch will run on the Sunday of the show, and participants are encouraged to submit topics and questions in advance. There will be a speednetworking session to give operators an opportunity to speak one on one with senior figures from key brands, with a champagne reception to finish. Attendees will also receive an exciting goody bag.

The show returns for 2018 with more than double the amount of business content in response to feedback from visitors. Five LIVE STAGES will run across both days, packed with engaging sessions full of advice. There will be a stage for demos, one for make-up, two for business skills and one for advanced treatments. There will also be a new Intimate Treatments programme packed with advice and demos on intimate waxing. Separately, a new programme of Business Workshops will run in collaboration with Salon Business Secrets, offering direct advice on topics including pricing and marketing.

3 Lash technicians can test their skills at the first NORTH LASH CHAMPIONSHIPS. There are nine categories, with divisions for Novice, Professional and Expert across three lash styles: Classic, Russian 3D and New Volume. The Novice categories are open to students or those who have had at least 18 months’ industry experience, while techs need 18 months to three years to enter Professional, and Expert is for those with three years or more. The competition will take place on both days.

4 This year, there is more for spas at Professional Beauty North. Visitors attending the show to find a luxury spa skincare brand can browse big-name stands such as Aromatherapy Associates, Sothys and Eve Taylor in the dedicated SPA BRANDS AREA before taking a break in the spa champagne bar. The relaxed zone allows plenty of space for networking.

5 Colleges have the chance to win £1,000 with THE COLLEGE CHALLENGE CUP, sponsored by VTCT. The college with the highest-placing students across all competitions at PB North (Warpaint Make-up Championships, Nail Championships, HJ Hair Championships and Lash Championships) will win the prize money. Colleges are awarded points for all students who place first, second or third; so the more students entered into competitions, the higher the college’s chance of taking home the money.

6 Fans of CACI’s facial toning devices have the chance to WIN A SYNERGY SYSTEM worth £12,500 at the show. Those who want a shot at winning should register for the show using the promotional code WINCACI and have their badge scanned on CACI’s stand (E5). CACI will announce the winner on stand at 3pm on the Monday of the show.
