Taking the perfect “nailfie” is crucial to securing new clientele, with more customers seeking out nail techs on social media than ever before. More than half of you (59%) say using the right hand posture is key, while 24% believe filters on Instagram and Facebook add another dimension to their picture.

A fifth of you (20%) advocate using polish bottles as cute props to help showcase your work, and 19% swear by coloured backgrounds, while just under a fifth (19%) have invested in a light box to give their images a super professional look.

With more kids-only salons popping up in the UK, just under half of you are now offering, or considering adding, nail services for children to your menu, seeing it as a growing segment that could prove lucrative.

35% of you have also reported that women aged 36–45 are now a major client base, seeing more growth in this group than any other over the past 12 months. For the latest nail news, turn to page 129.
