Workplace wellness has been high on the agenda for you this month, and your efforts to create a healthy space have started to pay off, with 47% stating you don’t feel stressed or anxious at work. However, more can and needs to be done, with 23% of beauty salon professionals admitting they feel stressed out weekly, 16% monthly and 14% daily.
Another big issue has been the damaging costs of client no-shows, with many of you stating that SMS and email reminders, strong cancellation policies and non-refundable booking fees have helped keep missed appointments to a minimum. This is reflected in your average treatment room occupancy, which has come in at a healthy 89% for July.
With more than half of you also offering unisex skincare ranges in salon, check out our feature on how to adopt a more gender-neutral approach to services on page 69.
