The coronavirus pandemic has not only taken a financial toll on salons but has impacted the mental health of owners and their teams too, which is why many have implemented initiatives to help keep their team mentally healthy. Just under a quarter (23%) are offering your teams a treatment in salon once per month, while others provide free fruit in the staff room (15%) or have reached out to local gyms to get employees a decent discount (8%). However, more than a third (35%) haven’t put any initiatives in place yet.
After a tough December, figures for treatment and retail sales hadn’t yet picked up in January, with many putting this down to the business slump usually felt after the festive period.
