APPLE & EVE 18TH BIRTHDAY PARTY KENSINGTON, LONDON

Beauty salon Apple and Eve celebrated its 18th birthday by inviting press and loyal customers for prosecco cocktails, lash lift demonstrations and complimentary treatments. Deputy editor Amanda Pauley received a manicure while editorial assistant Lydia Mormen got an eyebrow wax. Having just taken on skincare brand Dermalogica, the team was also offering free Face Mapping sessions to guests.

BUSINESS AND BEAUTY LECTURE MANCHESTER COLLEGE

Manchester College invited Real Housewives of Cheshire star Dawn Ward to host a lecture for beauty students. The successful entrepreneur and TV personality spoke about business, beauty and being the best you can be during a three-hour talk to Level 2, 3 and 4 beauty, make-up and massage students. The talk featured several demos, including advanced microdermabrasion and light therapy.

PB MAKE-UP SPECIALIST JUDGING DAY LCBT, LONDON

Four make-up artists went head-tohead to prove they’re the leading talent in the industry at the Professional Beauty Make-up Specialist of the Year 2019 judging day. At the London College of Beauty Therapy (LCBT) campus in Central London, finalists Sita Gill, Clare Pearson, Shannon Shea and Betsy-Dora Turner had one hour to create a beauty look based on an iconic singer, followed by an interview with judges. Winners will be announced at the PB Awards on February 24.

YTSARA AND ROBERT PARKER HOTEL SPAS LAUNCH WORDSWORTH HOTEL, LAKE DISTRICT

Features writer Fiona Vlemmiks attended the launch of the Ytsara spa range at The Wordsworth Hotel. The evening began with prosecco cocktails, while treatment demos were carried out. Each guest experienced a mini treatment – Fiona opted for a massage. A Thai-themed afternoon tea followed, while head trainer Lucy Bullen and distributor Claudia Agha told guests more about the range in a short presentation.

PURE BEAUTY ZONE LAUNCH PURE SPA LONDON CITY

Features editor Georgia Seago attended the unveiling of the Pure Beauty Zone concept, a new UK marketplace for natural beauty products at the London site of Scotland-based salon chain Pure Spa. Guests were welcomed with a glass of prosecco, received hand massages, and were shown the new natural and organic beauty brands that will be stocked in partnership with natural beauty start-up specialist The Clean Hub.
