North Nail Championships

Aspiring and accomplished techs are set to battle it out to be crowned the best in the business at the prestigious North Nail Championships 2017.

What are this year’s categories?

What are the prizes?

First-place winners will be featured in Professional Beauty magazine, receive a trophy and be awarded an “experience with a judge” mentoring prize. Second-place winners will get a trophy, while third place wins a medal and all other competitors get a certificate.

How does the judging process work?

Industry experts will be split between blind judging, where they only see the models’ hands, and floor judging, where competitors’ working practices are observed.

During floor judging, points will be awarded on everything from personal uniform and completed client cards, to excellent prep work and application technique.

For the blind judging, models will have their nails looked at before and after the finished look so judges can examine the overall standard.

WHAT’S THE DEADLINE?

The deadline for entries is October 5, except for the photographic categories which have a September 27 deadline. Entry costs £10 per category for students or £24.50 per category for professionals. Download your competition pack and enter now: professionalbeauty.co.uk/northnails
