■ Waxing brand Waxperts, distributed by Sweet Squared, has celebrated the first graduate from its new Manscaping male waxing course. Debbie Hargreaves from Inverness was the first student to complete the course, which covers male hair removal from facial to intimate.

■ A new tanning salon, Diamond Tanning, has opened in Ardsheal Road, Worthing. Run by Lois Hallett, the salon offers specialist light therapy sunbeds as well as brow, lash and make-up services. TV reality star Calum Best cut the ribbon at the opening, with more than 100 guests in attendance.

Aromatherapy Associates and bookings platform Groupon have been announced as the two sponsors of this year’s National Spa Week, which will take place from October 30 to November 5. Organiser UK Spa Association said it wants to sign up more than 1,000 businesses to participate this year. The event raises consumer awareness of the spa industry through events and promotions.

■ A salon within a Grade I-listed building in Middlesbrough offered free children’s manicures from April 10-20. Illustrated Beauty at Acklam Hall came up with the idea to keep children occupied while their parents have treatments.

Caci’s, Eye Revive Serum was awarded 80 out of 100 by consumer product testing group The Good Housekeeping Institute, which is linked to the consumer magazine. 22 panellists tested the anti-ageing eye serum over 28 days, and its performance was analysed by GHI experts.
