St Tropez has appointed digital influencer Natasha Oakley (pictured) as its 2017 tanning ambassador. development director, said: “This is our biggest influencer partnership to date…with Natasha’s strong global presence, we really want to show how versatile tanning can be all year round.”

■ Nearly 30% of women believe stress and anxiety has the biggest impact on visible signs of ageing, according to a survey by Surrey aesthetic clinic Health + Aesthetics. 21% said lack of sleep was the biggest cause but only 13% pinpointed factors that have been scientifically proven to promote visible facial ageing, such as smoking, high alcohol consumption and sun exposure.

■ A plus-size beauty salon is set to open in Las Vegas. Bodypositive make-up artist Jamie Lopez devised the concept after struggling to find venues where she could get treated comfortably due to her size. Babydoll Beauty Couture on Decatur Boulevard will feature waxing benches that can support up to 800lb, as well as 85-inch-wide chairs.

■ Around 80% of adolescents in the UK suffer with acne and three out of five say it affects their confidence, according to new research by The British Skin Foundation. Of the 10 to 18-year-olds surveyed, 62% reported being verbally abused by friends, family or a person they know because of their acne.

■ An underground spa set within the former vaults of two banks has opened in Bristol. The Bristol Harbour Hotel’s spa, on Corn Street, has seven treatment rooms, a sauna, steam room and relaxation areas, and includes original features.
