FACE THE future
We try out some advanced facials and explore the launch of a luxury new therapy
Omorovicza Blue Diamond Skin Therapy Session
Hungarian skincare brand Omorovicza has launched the Blue Diamond Skin Therapy Session at selected Four Seasons spas around the world. To celebrate the launch of the brand’s Blue Diamond Super Serum, Omorovicza introduced the new facial developed to highlight the serum’s effects on skin, vitality and fitness.
The serum contains hollyhock flower stem cells to target senescent cells in the skin, energising and optimising cellular function. Meanwhile, diamond peptides protect against environmental aggressors and reduce UV damage and naturally derived tetrapeptides work in a similar way to microcurrent to lift skin.
The 60-minute facial begins with a deep cleanse using Thermal Cleansing Balm or Cleansing Foam before a Blue Diamond Resurfacing Peel to unveil fresh skin. The Blue Diamond Super Serum is then applied to target fine lines and wrinkles, and revitalise skin with a luminous glow. Then comes a traditional Hungarian facial massage to energise muscles, stimulate microcirculation and promote lymphatic drainage. This is done in conjunction with the brand’s cooling dermaglobes for eye lifting.
The new treatment is priced at £350. omorovicza.co.uk

Germaine de Capuccini Spa Prescriptive Facial
The lowdown: I tried a 25-minute Germaine de Capuccini mini facial as part of a discovery day at Glass House Retreat in Essex, which recently welcomed the brand as its exclusive skincare partner. While the spa also offers Germaine’s Hydraluronic, Mesoboost, Micro-Needling, Radiance C+ and Lift_In facials, the prescriptive facial allows therapists to choose the most relevent elements of each to meet the individual client’s needs.
The experience: Having watched therapist Anzelika Volkova demonstrate several Germaine de Capuccini facials as part of the discovery day, I was excited to try a treatment under her expert hands.
During consultation, Volkova noted my skin was a bit dehydrated. She said she would tailor the treatment to ensure it was nourishing and hydrating as well as focusing on my main skin goal of lifting and firming. Following a thorough cleanse, Volkova incorporated products from Germaine de Capuccini’s Timexpert Hydraluronic line, which includes HLG nanopolymer and hyaluronic acid in three different molecular weights to help hydate and restore volume.
While the Hydraluronic facial would usually include use of a cool gua sha facial sculpting tool, following the consultation, Volkova swapped this out for the Y-shape lifting massage tool usually used in the Timexpert Lift IN treatment, which is designed to remodel and stimulate the skin, promoting a tightening effect along the cheekbones and jawline. The tool has lots of small nodules that grip the muscles as the device rolls over the skin, helping to invigorate and lift. Finishing with the Hyaluronic 3D Force Moisturising Fill-In Serum and a plumping moisturiser, I was refreshed and ready to go.
The verdict: My skin felt firmer and plumper following the treatment and looked far more hydrated, so I was happy to enjoy the rest of the evening at the spa makeup free.
Business benefits: The 25-minute facial option is great for spas to offer as part of a spa day or break but, when personalised to this degree, still provides a comprehensive and results-driven treatment. The inclusion of one of the three Germaine de Capuccini facial tools makes the treatment very instagrammable and adds an extra appeal.

Wildsmith Skin Radical Botany Facial
The lowdown: Designed for skin health and overall wellbeing, the Radical Botany Facial is a holistic yet results-driven treatment. Combining advanced myofascial release, craniosacral holds and breathwork, the facial works in sync with the body’s natural rhythms to deliver smoother and more hydrated skin.
The experience: I visited Liberty London, where Wildsmith Skin has made a home on the fourth floor in woodland-inspired treatment space The Treehouse. The facial began with breathwork, guided by an essential oil blend chosen to align with my circadian rhythm. My therapist, Cheryl Huggins, then did a double cleanse using the Active Repair Nourishing Cleansing Balm, which contains natural surfactants, 10 essential oils and nine botanical oils, and the Energising B5 Gel Cleanser with star ingredient panthothenic acid, leaving my skin refreshed.
A light exfoliation with the Dual Action Exfoliating Treatment (which features PHAs for chemical exfoliation and cherry stone powder for physical exfoliation) followed, during which I was treated to a foot and leg massage – a welcome touch as I’m currently in half-marathon training! Next came the Super Hydrating Overnight Mask, which targets redness, sensitivity, irritation, dryness, dehydration, lines and wrinkles – while Huggins worked on my hands with a massage.
To finish, my skin was nourished with a layering of Time-Release Pre-Serum Drops with encapsulated vitamin C and microdosed AHAs, Active Super Eye Serum, Active Repair Peptide Serum and the Active Repair Platinum Booster. A final touch of Ceramide Lipid Repair Balm ensured my lips felt just as pampered as the rest of my face.
The verdict: The immediate glow was undeniable – I felt so confident in my skin that I skipped makeup entirely, not only for the journey back to the office but even for after-work drinks, which is unusual for me. My complexion looked plump, hydrated and radiant, with a smoothness that lasted well beyond the treatment itself.
Business benefits: The facial bridges clinical efficacy with a deeply sensorial experience, making it a compelling offering for clients seeking results-driven relaxation. The incorporation of massage and breathwork enhances overall wellbeing, while the use of Wildsmith’s precision-formulated skincare ensures noticeable, lasting improvements in skin health.

Melanin-Rich Lip Neutralisation at The Tracie Giles Clinic
The lowdown: You have likely heard of lip blushing, but lip neutralisation is different. Specifically for melanin-rich skin tones and those with darker pigment in the lips, the treatment harmonises the tone of the lips with the rest of the face and adds definition.
The experience: The pink sanctuary that is the Tracie Giles Clinic is so welcoming. The staff all made me feel super comfortable and reassured me before going ahead with quite an intense treatment. My artist was Nina Onika, who talked me through the neutralisation process. She explained that it is a lot about colour theory and using colour to cancel out certain tones. After examining my lips and taking lots of photos, Onika told me that while my skin tone is very warm, the colour of my lips is cool, with lots of blue and purple tones. I couldn’t believe I hadn’t noticed the contrast before.
I told Onika I didn’t want anything too pink or red – I was looking for a dusty rose shade. She explained that this session would be more about neutralising the cool tones in my lips, so she would mostly be using orange. I would need a few more sessions over the next six months to get the final desired shade.
Onika outlined the shape of my lips and applied numbing cream. While the first pass with the needle was painful, each pass got less uncomfortable as more numbing cream was applied between.
The verdict: I was blown away by the results when I looked in the mirror. My lips were very swollen but I was assured that would go down in a few days. I loved the colour but was also looking forward to future sessions to get that shade I was looking for.
Business benefits: Offering neutralisation opens you up to a wider range of clients and fuller understanding of colour theory makes you a better SPMU artist all round.
