Salon businesses saw a steady February, with 29% reporting an increase in treatment bookings compared to February 2024, while 38% maintained the same level of business. Retail sales, however, faced some challenges, with 62% seeing a decline.
When it comes to developing future talent, salons are divided on apprenticeships. While 19% already have a programme, another 29% are considering introducing one, showing a positive interest in training the next generation of beauty professionals. Meanwhile, 43% have no plans to offer apprenticeships.
When it comes to staffwellbeing, just 10% of salons have wellness initiatives to support their teams. With employee retention becoming increasingly important, this is an area that could see growth in coming months.
