EDITOR’S COMMENT
The recent Professional Beauty show in London gave us the opportunity to meet so many inspirational people working in the industry and in this issue we celebrate some of the very best.
We ran a brand-new stage at the show this year, where we brought our Pro Beauty Pod podcast to life, interviewing high-profile names in front of a live audience, including makeup artist Dominic Skinner, skincare pro Caroline Hirons and nail artist Anouska Anastasia, as well as Shea Osei, the tech who did the nails for hit movie Wicked. You can read some of the highlights from our interview with Osei on page 45, where she outlines what it took to create those incredible looks and shares her advice for aspiring nail artists who want to experience the sort of opportunities and respect that she has achieved. During the show weekend, we also announced the winners of the Professional Beauty Awards 2025. Following an intense judging process that started way back in summer, the awards night gave us the chance to celebrate some of the most inspirational businesses, individuals and teams working in the industry today. From salons giving back to their local communities, to spas that put their employees at the centre of business decisions and individuals mentoring the next generation of beauty professionals, the winners you will read about from page 62 represent some of the most incredible industry talent in the UK.
If you’re looking to take your own beauty business to the next level, there is plenty more in this issue to inspire you. Check out our guide to mastering colour theory to improve your tanning technique on page 48, advice on creating a hook in your social media videos on page 42 and a back-to-basics look at crafting a successful business plan on page 81.
