Insider spa
As UK spa operators work hard to bounce back from the Covid-19 pandemic, it’s going to take some time for things to get back to how they were. Although saunas and steam rooms in England can now be used (the Government guidance changed on October 1), not being able to operate your thermal facilities until this date has taken its toll on your finances – with 87% unable to cover their outgoings, such as rent, overheads and staff costs, while the restrictions were in place.
Unfortunately, more than two thirds of you (67%) have also had to make redundancies, leaving your remaining team to adjust to this “new normal” in spa. Keeping your staff motivated during this time of uncertainty can be challenging, which is why we spoke to the professionals about how to communicate and incentivise different personality types in your team. Find out what they said on page 62.
