Cynosure acquired by Clayton, Dubilier & Rice for £157m

Cynosure has been acquired by an affiliate of investment funds manager Clayton, Dubilier & Rice (CD&R) for $205 million (£158m).

Medical technology company Hologic previously owned Cynosure, purchasing the aesthetic laser treatment company for $1.7 billion (£1.3bn) in 2017.

Cynosure’s global president Erik Anderson said: “We’re excited about the future for CynoSure with this recent announcement.

Foundationally, our business was strengthened in the past several years under Hologic, and this new acquisition by CD&R will accelerate our growth via expanded sales and marketing efforts, along with further investments in innovation and new products which will support our customer partners and improve clinical outcomes for consumers.”
