■ A car showroom beauty salon has opened at an Audi dealership in Poole, Dorset, so clients can relax while having their car serviced. Schön Beauty & Relaxation has a couple of nail stations and a treatment room, and aims to raise the bar in customer satisfaction.

■ Online education training provider Spa Business Education has launched five independent courses to enhance the business skills of beauty, spa and fitness professionals. The Spa Finance; Marketing; PR and Social Media; Group Dynamics & Conflict Management; and Strategic Human Capital Management courses take two to three weeks to complete.

■ Aesthetic clinic group EF Medispa is opening a franchise clinic in Edgbaston, Birmingham, in September – its second site outside of London. It will be run by franchisees Dal and Harchie Basra and feature a Drip and Chill IV vitamin infusion lounge and Manicure and Pedicure Lounge.

■ A vegan hair and beauty salon has opened in Nottingham. Bodhi Hair and Beauty offers a range of treatments including facials, gel manicures and highlights, all using vegan products from brands including Blue Labelle Skincare and Organic Colour Systems.

■ The Cathedral Quarter Hotel in Derby will unveil its refurbished beauty rooms in June and will be the first venue in the East Midlands to offer a range of treatments using Ila spa products. General manager Luke Gregory said: “We’re really excited to be launching the Calla Beauty Rooms this year as something extra for our guests.”
