EDITOR’S COMMENT
It’s been a busy month here at PB HQ as we geared up to launch The Pro Beauty Pod – our first ever podcast. It’s certainly been a learning curve as the team and I got to grips with recording, editing and distributing the series but I’m really proud of what we’ve achieved so far, and I hope you like it too. We’re aiming to give the podcast a real community focus, so we would love to hear what you think of our first four episodes – and, of course, who you want to hear from in future ones. Find out more about what we’ve done so far on page 44.
We’ve also been busy launching the Professional Beauty Awards for 2024 – you can see the full line-up of the categories for next year on page 11. Make sure to pick your favourite and enter by September 1.
There are also some new events on the cards over the coming months. In addition to Professional Beauty North returning to Manchester in September, this autumn will also see Olympia Beauty, now under the PB umbrella, move to ExCeL to run alongside Salon International in October, while a brand new show – Professional Beauty & Hair Glasgow – will hit Scotland next year. Read more about that event on page 12.
Of course, this issue also brings you a wealth of business advice and treatment trends to help you get ahead. If clients have been asking you about the “nail cycling” trend and whether they need to take regular breaks from enhancements, our experts share their advice on how to answer them on page 80.
Another buzzword of the moment is “skinification”, whereby more make-up brands are harnessing the skincare effects of active ingredients such as niacinamide in their products, and you can find out more about this trend and the products that embrace it on page 68.
