3 WAYS TO GROW your business

With the disruptions caused by covid finally easing, it’s time to refocus on growing your business. The team at Beu share their advice

Summer is just around the corner, and dare we say it, it feels like this could be the most normal year since Covid completely turned our industry on its head. With the last few years focused on surviving, now is a great time to take a step back and start looking at your business through a new lens – growth – so we have put together a few tips to optimise your business.

1. Find the right clients

This one seems obvious. More clients = growth. However, before you start sticker-bombing every lamp post and drop some money into social ads, we would advise you to be a little bit introspective.

Sustainable growth is about more than attracting new clients, it requires you to attract the right clients. First look at who your key customers are; the ones who come back month after month, pay for the premium products and take some products home with them too. These are the clients that if you could copy and paste, it would turn your business into a money-printing machine.

Once you have identified who your key clients are, try to work out if there are any common denominators between them. What are their hobbies and where do they like to hang out?

We spoke to a barber recently who identified that his best clients, the ones that booked in week after week, were training frequently in a local gym. He reached out to the gym owners and asked if he could set up a chair there to offer free haircuts. It turns out that the people who wanted their hair to always be on point were also dedicating a similar level of commitment to their body.

This one day spent out of the shop allowed him to interact directly with his ideal customer, rebook any customers after their haircut for a few weeks later, and gave him a great option to advertise on social media, as the new clients shared photos and videos of them getting a fix up with treadmills and weight racks in the background.

2. Minimise white space

Minimising white space is tricky. Offering cheaper appointments during hours with less demand is a fine line between tuning and devaluing your business. We think the best way to maximise empty appointment slots is by keeping on top of your diary and cutting down on annoying gaps throughout the day.

Beu salon software provides you with key oversight of all staff working within your salon, allowing you to spot quiet times in advance, so you can plan accordingly. In addition, appointments can be booked, rescheduled and cancelled with just a tap.

3. Cut down on no-shows

Having your clients pay for your services in advance seems unthinkable, but times are changing. One of the best ways to reduce the dreaded no-show is to introduce either a pre-payment or a deposit for the booking. With Beu, you have the flexibility to set different deposit amounts for individual services or staff members to completely optimise for your business.
