As spring/summer gets underway, there are some nail art trends for this season which you think clients are going to love, especially frosted (12%), micro designs (10%), and Pantone Colour of the Year periwinkle.

A bold chunky French is also back on consumers’ most-wanted list (6%) as are standout embellishments (4%) such as pearls, gems and more. For nail product inspiration, be sure to check out this month’s hot launches on page 111.

Which techniques work best in treatment has also been a hot topic this month, with more than a third (39%) of nail techs praising the benefits of using a builder base gel in a manicure or pedicure underneath coloured gel-polish.

The people who participated represent a cross-section of the industry and were polled by email from February 28–March 11, regarding business for the month to February 28. Nail business for the Insider Nails page was calculated from data provided by salons that offer nail services among other treatments. The figures given represent the average score for each answer.
