The Little Retreat in Nottingham opens UK’s first gin-themed nail parlour

Gin fever has taken the UK by storm, with a nail parlour themed on the drink opening last month.

Not only does The Little Retreat day spa in Nottingham have a bespoke Burleigh’s drink menu, offering everything from gin-infused cocktails to a classic G&T, but clients can also enjoy the moisturising properties of the nation’s favourite tipple in treatment. The Luxury Pedicure starts with feet being soaked in Burleigh’s pink, before being scrubbed with a lime, gin and ginger salt glow and covered in a gin-and-tonic-infused mask. Gel-polish finishes off the treatment.

The salon follows hot on the heels of The Gin Spa, which launched last year in Glasgow, and offers a broad range of gin-themed treatments using botanicals such as juniper

The London College of Beauty Therapy has partnered with the University of Derby to offer its International Spa Management Foundation degree at its central London premises. The first cohort of students will begin the course in September this year.
