KG Salon to open first franchise and standalone training academy

Bedfordshire-based KG Salon will open its first franchise in May, with plans to roll out the concept nationwide.

The new site – KG’s second after the company-operated original salon in Barton Le Clay – will be 15 miles away in Sandy and is owned by Anish and Sharita Khinda. It will be fitted out in the same style as the Barton Le Clay site and will share a price list for consistency.

Both salons will offer the same treatments, including classic and volume eyelash extensions, LVL lash lifts, acrylic nails, massages, HD Brows treatments, waxing and an Ergoline sunbed. KG Salon founder Katie Godfrey told Professional Beauty her goal is to open three franchises per year and said she would consider partnerships anywhere in the country. “I’d like to work with beauty therapists who want their own salon but don’t know where to start and need a bit of guidance,” said Godfrey.

In return for a £15,000 set-up fee and an ongoing 7% of turnover, franchisees receive furniture and equipment, recruitment and training, and ongoing marketing and business support. KG’s training and distribution arm KG Professional has also moved to a standalone premises in Luton.

The change came in April to create more space for training courses and managing the distribution of KG Professional lash extension supplies. KG teaches courses in lash extensions and acrylic and gel nails, as well as newly launched business workshops.
