Environ Focus Care Skin Tech+ Electro-Sonic DF Mobile Skincare Device

The DF Mobile Skincare Device is the first home-use device from Environ. Designed to help clients continue the benefits of an in-salon treatment plan between appointments, the device uses the same types of ultrasound as the brand’s professional-use machine, used during Environ facials. Sonophoresis increases the absorption of skincare, while iontophoresis enhances the skin’s permeability by passing a weak electrical current through it. Used in combination with topical skincare, the device can help drive targeted serum formulas into the skin.

It’s designed for clients with anti-ageing concerns including frown lines, smile lines and fine wrinkles around the eyes, upper-lip lines and pigmentation marks from sun damage. Other indications include minor scars and excess chin fat.

How to use

However, rosacea- and acne-prone clients can also use the device to boost treatment programmes, applying the technology over serums to enhance penetration of active ingredients, providing it isn’t used excessively with irritating actives like retinol. In most treatment programmes the device can be used daily. Owing to the low-level currents, it is also suitable for clients contraindicated to in-salon technology, such as those who are pregnant. Clients can use the device with different serums on various zones of the face, depending on what is needed where. After pre-cleansing and cleansing the skin, the appropriate serum should be applied.

A conduction cloth, included in the kit, needs to be dampened to conduct the electrical current and held around the device in contact with the conduction plates on the sides of the machine. The flat part of the treatment head is placed onto the skin as a beeping noise indicates the start of the treatment. After 15 seconds, another beep sounds, which tells the client to move the device to a slightly overlapping position.

After treatment, the client massages any excess serum into the skin and follows with the rest of their regime.

Spotlight Accor NF+ Cosmetic Corrector

Plasma is the hottest buzzword in non-invasive aesthetic devices, and the Accor NF+ Cosmetic Corrector makes the technology portable for wider usability. The device is being launched into the UK by distributor The Smart Group, which also sells Cosmedico laser machines. The Accor pen creates a tiny electrical arc at its tip, delivering plasma energy 1mm above the surface of the skin.

Upon contact, the plasma arc vaporises a micromillimetre-sized dot on its surface, which causes tightening of skin in its vicinity. By targeting the skin superficially, the pen is designed to achieve tightening on large areas but with less swelling, redness and scabbing than other thermal energy technologies.

In addition to skin tightening and wrinkle reduction, the pen can be used to perform scar tissue improvement and reduction of unwanted pigmentation such as freckles and moles; as well as skin tag, tattoo and permanent make-up removal.

Fully charged, it gives up to eight hours’ battery life and can also be used in a stationary set up with cable usage. It’s made from fibreglass-strengthened plastic and an aluminium compound.

Trade: £5,950 01344 411480 (The Smart Group) smarths.org

The Day Cream now also includes regenerating kangaroo flower extract, while the Night Cream includes moonstone hydrated silica to act on skin’s night time repair mechanisms. RRP: from £58 for 50ml 01279 774215 clarins.co.uk

Entity

The Pro LED lamp has been designed to give a gentle cure for clients with sensitive skin. The lamp is billed as curing quickly and efficiently for five fingers and is acetone-resistant with a sanitisable magnetic tray. It also has a motion sensor, and the gentle cure technology means the 36-watt LED power builds over 60 seconds to help prevent heat spikes.
