Is it important for staff to bond outside the salon?
@polishedmarske
:“Yes absolutely 🙌. It’s something we always do regularly. It builds stronger relationships, boosts morale and fosters deeper connections, which makes for a happier, more productive team, happy salon and clients who love seeing and hearing about it too.”
@abbyjeansamuda:
“I think it has its benefits but it depends on the team of people.”
Lisa Young: “It’s their personal time – they can do as they want as long as they don’t bring any negativity into the salon.”

What changes would you like to see in the industry in 2026?
@rosiekefford:
“I’d love to see stronger regulation and clearer standards around education and training, particularly fast track/one day courses. Protecting client safety and maintaining professional credibility has to be a priority as the industry evolves .”
Kelly Hicks:
“What I’d like more than anything this year is the unity of information being passed onto our government from each professional body. No more ‘our industry is in growth’ just because hair and beauty sales are up. I want to be represented properly as a proud beauty salon owner in my own right.”
Gail Noble:
“As a small salon, it's impossible to get funding for equipment and machines and also products. Some companies want minimum orders that are not realistic for a sole therapist. I feel we have to struggle along when I want to stand out among the big salons.”
