This month we try some deeply relaxing and renewing treatments, and explore launches created to balance and retore

Circadia Balance + Restore Facial

The new Balance + Restore Facial is designed to support and strengthen skin from the inside out, especially during the hormonal changes of menopause. Instead of using strong peels or exfoliation, it works to hydrate, calm and support the skin’s natural repair process with ingredients like peptides, lactic acid, snow algae and spirulina. After a pre-cleanse, skin is cleansed with a combination of Nourish Cream Cleanser and Snow Algae and Spirulina Cooling Mask before the gentle exfoliation step, via either a lactic acid gel peel, or an enzyme peel if the client has more sensitised skin. Next comes a nourishing massage followed by a spritz of Blueberry & White Tea Mist and light tapotement. A renewing mask step comes next, with optional gua sha massage, then a second mask step using a combination of Snow Algae & Spirulina Cooling Mask and Circadian Time Balancing Mask. After another mist spritz, the facial finishes with hydration including Vitamin C and protection with SPF.

Tried & tested: Skeyndor Timeless Garden Retreat

The lowdown: Timeless Garden Retreat is a 150-minute face-and-body ritual designed to combine advanced skincare actives with classic spa relaxation. It pairs Skeyndor's high-potency formulas – including growth factors, stem cells and collagen – with massage techniques aimed at restoring radiance, firmness and vitality.

The experience: I was lucky enough to try the treatment the day before my wedding and my visit to St Pancras Spa, London, began with access to the thermal facilities, a lovely warm-up that left my muscles relaxed for treatment. I was then greeted by Natalie Hood, director of Skeyndor’s UK distributor Clinic Brands, who led me to the treatment suite for the deeply relaxing 60-minute signature massage.

The facial element followed and began with Skeyndor’s D-Tox Champagne Jelly (yes, it contains real champagne) which felt cool and refreshing. Hood then moved into an extended facial massage using a blend of Skin 5 Growth Factors and a concentrate containing 50 million Damask rose stem cells. The texture was rich without feeling heavy, and the massage struck a balance between soothing and stimulating. The actives are designed to support cell renewal, soften fine lines and brighten the complexion.

Next came the Collagen 3D mask paired with an antioxidant multivitamin cocktail. The mask set with a firm, cooling sensation. To finish, Hood applied White Truffle Redensifying Cream, followed by a light layer of DD Cream.

The verdict: Timeless Garden Retreat blends scientific formulas with a classic spa feel. My skin looked smoother and more even afterwards, with a luminosity that lasted through the following day – ideal timing before my wedding as it helped my bridal makeup sit on the skin so well.

Business benefits: With a recommended price of around £380 per guest, the treatment offers strong profit potential, and the curated use of Skeyndor’s premium products naturally supports retail recommendations post-treatment.

Tried & tested: Matis Paris Densité Solution facial

The lowdown: French skincare house Matis Paris, which celebrates its 90th anniversary this year, is known for its sensorial textures and protocols that blend traditional techniques with modern precision. The Densité Solution treatment is a 75-minute anti-ageing ritual designed to restore firmness, elasticity, plumpness and resilience.

The experience: I had my treatment with Leanne Roche, Matis Paris’s national trainer for the UK. While the protocol usually starts with Matis’s Skinanalyzer diagnostic tool, the team had travelled especially to our offices to perform the treatment, so the device wasn’t available for this session – therefore we moved straight into the hands-on steps.

The ritual opened with a cleanse using the brand’s gentle milk makeup remover, before exfoliation with Authentik Powder, a foaming exfoliator with oyster shell and argan kernel shell powder, delivering smoothness without irritation.

The detox phase came next using Bright Essence, preparing skin for the treatment's hero element: Le Lift 71 modelling massage. This is where the treatment truly elevated. Over 20 minutes, Roche used contouring strokes. The massage was rhythmic and deeply relaxing, yet I could feel it working – tension released in my jaw, my cheekbones felt defined, and my whole face had a lifted sensation.

Then came the intensive Densité phase, using elastagen concentrate, designed to support density and bounce in the skin. It left my skin revitalised and noticeably firmer.

To finish, Roche layered Cell-Expert, Time-Global Serum, Global Eyes and Time-Global Cream – all chosen for their anti-ageing benefits. These formulas house Matis’s blend of plant extracts, marine actives and gentle retinol-like ingredients to boost collagen and improve texture.

The verdict: The facial is results-driven without feeling clinical. My skin was noticeably smoother and more radiant, with a visible plumpness. The massage alone is transformative and left me feeling sculpted and stress-free.

Business benefits: With its healthy ageing narrative and proven active ingredients, the Densité Solution treatment is a compelling addition to premium facial menus. The protocol combines results with a signature French spa feel.

Tried and tested…Fresh Leaf Fusion Face & Body Treatment

The lowdown: Autumn 2025 marked a special moment for South Lodge in Horsham, Sussex, as the estate celebrated the first harvest from its on-site vineyard, planted three years ago in collaboration with Ridgeview English Sparkling Wine.

While the wine produced is due to be released in 2028 – and served exclusively at the venue – the natural by-products from the harvest are already being used by English skincare brand Pelegrims in three new exclusive vinotherapy treatments at South Lodge.

The experience: After a luxurious stay in The Reeds (eight luxury, sustainable lakeside lodges) and an invigorating morning wild swim, I went to the spa to experience the new Fresh Leaf Fusion Face & Body Treatment.

The treatment uses the skilled touch of the therapist, fused with the by-products from the vineyard – such as grape skins, seeds and stems – to cleanse, relax and calm.

An 80-minute treatment, the full-body experience began with a choice of aromatic body oils, selected to suit my mood; I opted for energising ginger to awaken my senses. A deep-cleansing mask, with antioxidant-rich vine leaves, then worked to target congestion and dullness on the back.

However, the star of the show was the warm herbal poultice massage; the gentle heat, combined with the natural, soothing aromas produced by the poultice, enhance the grounding nature of the treatment, reinforcing its benefits not only for the body, but the mind.

The treatment finished with a hydrating Pelegrims facial cleanse and a bio-cellulose sheet mask, infused with grapevine actives to firm, brighten and refresh the skin.

Following the treatment, I was invited to continue to unwind in the spa’s dedicated relaxation room, which features LED beds and a no-phones policy, while enjoying a cup of herbal tea and some grapes from the vineyard.

The verdict: The epitome of a holistic spa experience, my muscles felt lighter, my skin brighter, and my mind felt at one with my body.

Business benefits: The Fresh Leaf Fusion Face & Body Treatment champions the power of human touch, and the USP of the on-site harvest gives the treatment a fantastic story-telling element that really resonates with the modern eco-conscious spa guest.

For an 80-minute treatment, South Lodge charges £175 pelegrims.com / exclusive.co.uk/south-lodge
