July was a strong month for the spa sector. Treatment business flourished, with 38% of you reporting a rise compared to the previous year, and an average treatment room occupancy of 82%. Retail business remained similarly resilient, with 37% of you enjoying better sales. 

We asked which factor you thought had the greatest impact on client satisfaction, and 74% of respondents said the quality of services and treatments was the most important thing. Of course, quality of service relies heavily on the health and wellbeing of the therapist performing the treatment – find out how massage therapists can improve longevity in the career in our feature on page 64.

When reflecting on the most impactful trends of the last year, 57% noted the importance of wellness and holistic therapies; you can read more about the latest wellness trends on page 12.
