INCLUSIVE beauty

Inclusivity is the right thing to do for both people and profits. The team at Shop Beautiful explains how the products you choose for your salon or clinic are key

Thankfully, strides have been made in the beauty industry in the last decade to ensure that brands are inclusive of all skin types and tones. We still have a way to go; however, importantly the commitment is now there from manufacturers and brands to ensure products and treatments are inclusive.

Some treatments, however, have always been considered as exclusive to lighter skin tones; chemical peels, for example. Historically, clients with darker skin tones are at greater risk of developing hyperpigmentation and scarring from chemical peel treatments.

The right products

Shop Beautiful, owned by the DD Group, was delighted to discover Biorepeel, a 35% TCA peel that has two gamechanging benefits that set it apart from any chemical peel that had come before it:

1. It works from the inside out. No flaking, peeling of the skin or infection risk. Customers carry on with their day and week with no visual sign they have had such a significant resurface.

2. Here is where it gets revolutionary the peel was designed to be used on the darkest of skin tones from Fitzpatrick 6 and below. Biorepeel has opened up the market for customers with all skin tones to access a treatment that gives beautiful results, treating texture, hyperpigmentation, acne scarring and general dull and lacklustre skin.

Shop Beautiful boasts a delighted customer base, who are reporting increased revenues and a satisfied client base as they experience a treatment that provides dynamic results without excess shedding and downtime.

Vivienne Braidwood, director of aesthetics and beauty for the DD Groups, adds, “As woman of colour and a previous owner of a clinic chain, I appreciate how ground-breaking Biorepeel is as a treatment. It fills a gap in our market on a number of fronts.

“Our motivation is being able to provide a quality and inclusive brand that grows the business of our customers.”

Building partnerships

Created by the cutting-edge C-Med research and development company in Italy, Biorepeel sits alongside 4ever, the additional resurfacing treatment and skincare, and Ares, a complete mesotherapy range of formulas ranging from hair restoration to metabolic stimulation.

Carlo Michelini, general manager of C-Med, adds, “We wanted to create a peel that was easy for therapists to use and comfortable for clients to experience. Highperformance peels are often very painful for clients. I am always so pleased to hear the compliments we get talking about how pleasant Biorepeel is to have and how much people love the results.”

The DD group is the exclusive distributor of Biorepeel and the C-Med suite of products in the UK.
