SHOULD YOU INTRODUCE CBD INTO YOUR BEAUTY SALON?

CBD has been misunderstood for many years but its power as a health and beauty supplement is finally being recognised. The team at Shop Beautiful explain how CBD can benefit your business

There is a lot of hype around CBD as a wellness product at the moment but many of us are still in the dark about its true value and place in beauty salons.

As Shop Beautiful launches the Nutra7 range of CBD products, Samantha Woodcroft, co-founder of Nutra7, tells us more about CBD and why salons should be adding it to their mix.

What is CBD?

“Cannabidiol (CBD) is a compound of the cannabis plant that has significant health benefits. Unlike cannabis, CBD does not contain THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) which is the cannabinoid that produces psychoactive effects. So, because of this distinction, CBD is a legal supplement that people can take,” explains Woodcroft.

What can CBD be used for?

“It’s a naturally occurring substance that’s used in products like oils and edibles to impart a feeling of relaxation and calm,” adds Woodcroft.

“There is a wide range of conditions for which people are using CBD as treatment. The most popular reasons range from anxiety, insomnia and joint pain, to inflammation and depression.”

Is there a demand for it?

“There’s no question that CBD is now big business. Recent research by the Global Wellness Institute estimates mental wellness is now worth £91.8 billion globally, which covers senses, sleep and space, nutraceuticals and botanicals, self-improvement and mindfulness.

“The explosion in popularity of CBD comes from media coverage and positive anecdotal experiences from people trying it for themselves and then recommending it to friends,” says Woodcroft.

Barnard from the Shop Beautiful team says the decision to launch with Nutra7 was all down to results and support.

Is CBD effective?

“Nutra7, which is the brand we recommend, suggests that 80% of CBD users say they find CBD products to be ‘very or extremely effective’, while just under half (42%) say they have stopped using traditional pain relievers or prescription pain drugs and switched to using CBD and or CBD dominant products instead,” says Barnard.

Where can I learn more about CBD?

“Start with a product range that will offer a good level of training and support,” says Barnard. “We work with Nutra7 because it is a UK leading UK supplier with more than 60 years in the industry and the team are happy to work with and support salons.

“Alongside this, at Shop Beautiful we offer a complete support package for our customers interested in introducing CBD, including free training, webinars, blogs and downloadable resources.”
