SOS: SupportOUR Salons

1 Business Boost

This year we’ve put together an outstanding professional development programme with no less than 12 seminar and stage schedules. From Business Skills to Advanced Treatments, Skin is Alive to the Aesthetic Medicine Conference or the Warpaint make-up and Hairdressers Journal stages, whatever your professional interest this year’s Professional Beauty North will deliver innovations and ideas to help you better serve your customers and boost your income. For the first time we’ll have 4,000 free car parking spaces, and most importantly, exhibitors have responded with the most impressive array of new product launches and special show incentives ever.

3 Salon and Spa Owners’ Convention

A completely new two-day event will take place at the show this year. The Salon and Spa Owners’ Convention is put together exclusively for beauty and hair salon owners and managers. The top-level conference will bring successful, experienced owners together to deliver topical, fresh ideas and tried-and-tested advice based on real-life experiences, from one business owner to another.

Speakers will discuss the difficulties and challenges of running a small business and help delegates futureproof their businesses by staying ahead of trends in consumer spending, technology, product development, marketing and retail. Hellen Ward, managing director of Richard Ward Hair & Metrospa, Becky Woodhouse, CEO of Pure Spas, and Melissa Evans, group spa manager of Spa Experience by Better, are just some of the confirmed speakers.

Tickets include lunch and VIP access to the show. One day pass: £75+VAT; two-day pass: £115+VAT. Book at professionalbeauty.co.uk/convention

5 Spa Boutique

This year we’ve designed an exclusive Spa Boutique area on the show floor. The area provides the ideal opportunity for owners, operators and mangers to come together and explore high-end skincare brands such as Aromatherapy Associates, Thalgo, Murad, Sothys and Katherine Daniels; as well as specialist equipment providers like Cosmetronic. In the centre of the section you’ll find a champagne bar to network and enjoy a drink with colleagues. Delegates of our new Spa and Salon Owners’ Convention can also visit the champagne bar to socialise with other attendees between sessions.

2 Support Our Salons

Beauty’s a great business, but we know it can be tough running a salon. That’s why we’ve launched the Support Our Salons (SOS) campaign, starting at Professional Beauty North. SOS is a series of initiatives with the aim of sustaining and growing the salon business. We’re creating networking opportunities for you to share ideas and solutions with those that can help - your fellow owners and therapists.

To get involved, just tell us in 100 words or fewer, “What’s the biggest or most surprising challenge you have faced since starting your salon or mobile business, and how did you overcome it?” Email your answer to info@professionalbeauty.co.uk or leave us a message on our Facebook page: facebook.com/ProfessionalBeautyUK

There’ll be some fantastic prizes for the best entries as well as a free invitation to our networking reception at 3.30pm on the Sunday of the show.

4 New-look Regional Awards

Our Regional Awards, which celebrate the very best beauty and spa businesses up and down the country, will transform into a luxurious champagne afternoon tea for 2017. The awards will be held at 4pm on the Sunday of the show, and the 22 winners will be announced in a beautifully dressed room within the venue.

This year, the 14 salon categories are divided into “boutique” (three treatment rooms or fewer) and “large” (four treatment rooms or more), and sit alongside eight spa categories, giving even more chances to win.
