It’s been a tough month for the nails sector with business largely remaining on par with June last year. However, with 21 manicures and pedicures to perform on average per week, it’s no wonder that you shop for supplies monthly.

Growth is the word on everyone’s lips with 15% of you having added new services to your menu in the past 12 months, such as powder-dip systems, and the majority employing between three to four nail techs in their salon or spa.

METHODOLOGY Insider is compiled from a monthly telephone survey of spas and beauty salons. The people who participated represent a cross-section of the industry and were polled by phone from July 3–6, regarding business for the month to June 30. Nail business for the Insider Nails page was calculated from data provided by spas and salons that offer nail services among other treatments. The figures given represent the average score for each answer. Brands are ranked when mentioned by several respondents.
