Team PB invited pro make-up brands to recreate AW17 make-up trends for a video tutorial. Mii Cosmetics’ make-up artist Kirstie Bower showed her interpretation of winter brights; Rachael Keeley from High Definition created a “no make-up make-up” look accentuated with a pushed up brow; and Anushka Patel, make-up artist and brand manager at Jane Iredale, brought to life a wearable red lip. Keep an eye on PB’s YouTube channel in the coming months for the full videos.

MURAD CONNECTED BEAUTY EVENT INSTITUTE OF CONTEMPORARY ARTS, LONDON

UK beauty press, including PB’s assistant editor Georgia Seago, got a rare opportunity to meet Dr Howard Murad himself at an event to introduce the brand’s new connected beauty concept, which links skincare with mindfulness and wellness. This served as the perfect platform to reveal upcoming products, which guests could discover in the connected beauty room after hearing all about them first hand from Dr Murad.

AROMATHERAPY ASSOCIATES FRAGRANCE LAUNCH THE DORCHESTER, LONDON

PB’s deputy editor Amanda Pauley attended a breakfast launch event to introduce beauty press to Aromatherapy Associates’ first fragrance. The scent, Aromatherapy Associates Eau De Parfum, was resurrected from the archives of the brand’s late founder, Geraldine Howard. Journalists at the launch were gifted with a bottle of the fragrance – of which only 2,000 are available globally – engraved with their initials. Breakfast was a choice of avocado or smoked salmon with eggs, followed by a selection of fresh pastries.

SK:N CLINIC OPENING HARLEY STREET, LONDON

To mark the opening of its flagship branch on Harley Street, clinic group sk:n held a roundtable discussion with medical director Dr Daron Seukeran to talk about current issues affecting the aesthetics industry. PB’s Georgia Seago joined in the discussion, where attendees learned more about sk:n’s offering and future focus, and were given a tour of the new space.
