Do you check in for client comfort throughout their treatment?
@laurensbeautymassage “Client trust and comfort is always a priority.
Therefore, I talk them through the treatment beforehand but also make them aware of any new noises or sensations. If during a facial or massage my client may be snoozing, I say very quietly, ‘this is going to make a sound like this. It’s comforting to them to know what to expect, as when the eyes are shut everything is heightened. I find my clients remain calm and dozy throughout even if it’s a slightly more intense service.”
@salonesque “We always check in on our clients, but I find it especially important when the client’s eyes are closed or they have lash moulds or tape on the eye area…this can be verbally or if I haven’t touched the client in a few minutes, I lightly touch the temple before I proceed with anything else.”

Setting up a salon in your garden
@cbeauty_nails_and_more “Think about product storage too! Gel/builder polishes, lash glue etc. I love my cabin but if I was to do it again, I would definitely include a toilet and possibly convert a garage rather than have a cabin.”
@oceanbluebeautytherapy: “And planning... councils are very strict and so many salons are opening without permission ”
@naturallyskindeepuk: “Check your house insurance policy allows you to work from home/garden or allow visitors connected to said business.”
The Safer Salon Geek: “Before anything else, check for Restrictive Covenants on your deeds. New-build estates have these in place as part of local planning agreements. Working with one then being reported, for example, even with council planning etc can be costly, five-figure sums and you can still be forced to close. Do your due diligence.”

Which part of beauty are you most passionate about?
@heyhunaesthetics “Making people feel more confident and being able to sometimes reassure them that they don’t need drastic changes to their appearance because they’re fabulous the way they are ”
@helford_beauty “Taking care of clients. Not just following social media trends, prescribing what suits them and explaining what will benefit their skin in a popular language, not terminology they don't understand ”
@twinoaksbeauty “Catering each treatment to each individual’s needs. This starts with a thorough consultation and understanding of what your client needs, not just what they think they want. This builds your client’s full trust and confidence in you. ”
