The semi-permanent makeup artists you need to check out on socials, who specialise in everything from post-cancer care to fake freckles

Karen Betts

Karen Betts, founder of HD Brows and Nouveau Lashes, is one of the originators of SPMU in the UK. She got into the trade after a childhood friend was diagnosed with breast cancer and lost all of her hair, including her lashes and brows.

Now, Betts is one of the most well-respected SPMU artists in the industry, especially in the oncology space for reconstructing nipples, brows and more, in turn restoring confidence to those who have lost it.

Betts has also treated a lot of celebrities over the years, including Katie Piper, Arlene Phillips and Amy Childs.

Nez Hasan

Nez Hasan started as a microblading artist in a small room in Southgate, London, after quitting her nine-to-five office job.

As well as being sought after for popular treatments such as lip blushing and powder brows, she is also well known for her microneedling work on scars and burns.

Hasan has also launched her own vitamin-infused product range called Hairgredients for natural brow, hair and lash care, and regularly gets featured as an expert in glossy magazines.

Jasmine Diebelius

Former MUA Jasmine Diebelius has become the sweetheart of the UK’s SPMU scene over the past decade with her unique technique that works with clients’ facial anatomy to create super natural, enhanced results.

Her socials are a font of education, covering important topics such as how to conduct lip blushing on migrated filler and neutralising hyperpigmentation on the lips. She also does SPMU removal on clients who have had a bad experience with another artist.

Sian Dellar

Sian Dellar treats semi-permanent makeup like fine art and specialises in deeper skin tones. As well as using the microblading technique to enhance eyebrows and lips, Dellar is well known for freckles.

Her feed shows her commitment to inclusivity, regularly featuring men who have had great results with treatments like lip blushing, as well as education on all skin shades and types. Dellar is also known for her scalp treatments, shading in hairs for those who have lost them to baldness or a health issue.

Tracie Giles

Instagram: @traciegiles_permanentmakeup 49.4k

Tracie Giles is another UK veteran of the SPMU world and shot to industry fame after having celebrity clients such as Katie Price and Gemma Collins.

Her Knightsbridge clinic is known for her cherry-picked team of SPMU artists, who hail from all over the world.

Giles’ Instagram feed is alive with incredible transformations and education. She is super passionate about treating transgender clients and performing genderaffirming treatments.

She also runs extensive and awardwinning training under The Tracie Giles Rising Stars Programme.
