Dermalogica High School event

19 Greek Street, London

Dermalogica invited beauty pros and press to go back to school, in an event venue transformed into a classroom complete with blackboards, school desks and lab coats. Louis Chabert, Dermalogica’s senior director of global professional innovation, was over from the brand’s Los Angeles headquarters and gave a presentation on current industry trends driving the professional and medi-spa industry globally. Guests, including PB content writer Ellen Cummings, learned how Dermalogica Pro is evolving the advanced treatment space and got an insight into exciting new product and service innovations – the Melanopro Peeling System, Retinol Accelerator and ProPen technology updates.

Is Clinical Retinol+ Emulsion launch

The Langham, London

At an intimate breakfast event, Is Clinical co-founders Bryan Johns and Alec Call were interviewed by Keeping Face podcast presenter Kathleen Baird-Murray to find out what makes the new Retinol+ Emulsion so special. PB deputy editor Kezia Parkins and Ellen went along to learn about the independent studies the brand had completed on the product and the botanical ingredients used to enhance it.

Retinol+ Emulsion is a keratolytic formula featuring encapsulated and bio-identical lipids, phosphatidylcholine, and triglycerides and is available in two strengths: 0.3%, and 1%. Guests also learned about the effect that free radicals have on ageing and the body and Is Clinical’s patented extremozyme technology Ectoin, which helps to nourish and protect skin against these external environmental aggressors.

Hydropeptide breakfast event

Beyond Medispa, Harvey Nichols, London

Ellen attended an enlightening breakfast event with skincare brand Hydropeptide, held at advanced aesthetics centre Beyond Medispa on the fourth floor of the iconic Harvey Nichols department store in Knightsbridge. Attendees watched a presentation from Dr Neal Kitchen, the brand’s chief operating officer, geneticist and lead formulator. Dr Kitchen gave his insights on the brand and the science behind it, then attendees had the opportunity to chat with him and have a skin analysis with the brand’s Skinformatix Pro device. Guests were also treated to a Hydropeptide facial of their choice at Beyond Medispa, which offers a range of Hydropeptide treatments.

Alma Opus launch event

Teresa Tarmey Clinic, London

Alma launched its new Opus radiofrequency device at the sophisticated Teresa Tarmey Clinic in Notting Hill.

Attendees, including Ellen and Aesthetic Medicine editor Anna Dobbie, heard from Ana Tadmor, global product and customer experience director at Alma, and Sophie Perry, senior customer experience manager and part of the clinical education team at Alma UK and Ireland, about Alma’s range of devices and the latest addition to the portfolio – Alma Opus. Skin expert Teresa Tarmey also made her debut as an ambassador for Alma as she revealed why she’s been a fan of the brand’s devices for several years.

Pinterest Possibility Place pop-up

Covent Garden, London

For two days only, social media platform Pinterest hosted a pop-up called Possibility Place and PB editor Eve Oxberry and content writer Lollie Hancock went along to the pre-opening party to check it out. There were three spaces – for beauty, recipes and interiors – to represent the things people look to Pinterest for inspo on. In the beauty zone, Yo Keshh Nails and Jess Young Nails were creating some stunning nail art (Eve went for a blue and yellow flame design). There was also hair styling on offer, and even micro tattoos – Lollie got spontaneous and picked out a tiny star design for her arm. Guests could scan QR codes around the space to access inspo boards and pick out their designs.

Stylpro product launch party

Electric Space, London

To celebrate the launch of a whole host of products by pro beauty gadget brand Stylpro, PB’s content writer Lollie Hancock headed down to events venue Electric Space for an evening of bubbles and canapés with beauty pros, press and fans. The products to try and test at the event ranged from LED eye masks and Bluetooth mirrors to mini skincare fridges and sustainable gift sets. Stylpro’s The Apprentice-winning founder Tom Pellereau attended the event to celebrate the success of the brand’s current range with the brand’s guests, who then left with goodie bags of Stylpro products.
