Hayley Snishko launches course to empower therapists in enhancing their clients’ mental wellbeing

Karis Brelsford, beauty business coach: “What a lovely idea, and a great way to support clients’ wellbeing”

Ellie Tidy, national franchise manager, Guinot: “👏👏👏👏 congratulations on your launch @hayley_snishko”

L’Oréal to stop supply of salon and spa brand Decléor

Lian Jackson, founder, SCin Matters, Standlake: “So sad – my first ‘big’ London job was with Decléor over 20 years ago – always loved this brand💔 ”

Vicki Torr, director, The Brow Project, Sheffield: “ 😪😪😪Gutted to read this. I worked with Decléor for over 20 years and it is and was such an amazing brand.”

Government launches consultation into aesthetic procedure licences

Linda Garbutt, owner, Solitude, Essex: “As someone who is coming near to retirement, I know personally this won’t affect me. However, the thought of having worked in a profession for so many years that has the possibility of being stripped of its worth is upsetting. Electrolysis is a treatment that therapists have been trained in for decades and have been treating people successfully. I am flummoxed as to why it’s thought that anyone who’s not worked within the NHS is incapable all of a sudden. With MHRA, CQC etc involved, do beauty professionals stand a chance in all this? I will be emailing with evidence to protect my industry. Maybe I’ll be sticking around for just this.”

Michelle Brookes, owner, Beauty Lounge, Doncaster: “Totally not fair and once again beauty therapists are being penalised like we were in lockdown. I’m all for regulation of the industry but not taking away our basic treatments and giving them to medics.”

Kellie Atkinson, owner, Flawless Beauty, Sheffield: “Radiofrequency in amber is ludicrous! This is low risk and has been performed by therapists for decades I don’t understand the reasoning why now all of a sudden we require ‘medical supervision’? A lot of us feel there is a whole other agenda to all of this other than risk and safety!”

We love how supportive the beauty industry is. Tag someone you love working with or admire.

Emma Catchpole, beauty therapist and educator, Em-Brace Beauty, Rushden: “100% . When I first started out I did feel like it was a competition in the industry but now I love how supportive everyone is of each other. I have met some genuinely lovely people and I love seeing their successes.”

Joanna Bojarska, owner, Beauty by Joanna, Newbury: “We are super lucky to work alongside so many motivational and inspiring professionals! My list is simply too long but here are a few ladies who are inspiring me on daily basis @carolinehirons @askneridajoy @ayastouch @ts3treatment. studio @hayley_snishko💔 ”
