Get personal with your salon software: here’s how Vagaro is helping the owner of Sienna Beauty to elevate her business

What is the one thing that drives you toward success? Perhaps you have a few. For some, like

Doey Ragbourne, the most painful experiences can end up being the catalysts for a completely new path in life. Sienna Beauty, located in Sonning Common, Oxfordshire, is a thriving tribute to Ragbourne’s late daughter, so her business endeavours carry quite a bit of meaning. With such personal ties to her success, choosing a business software that could live up to those standards was a tall order, but Sienna Beauty found this with Vagaro.

Ragbourne tried several booking and business management software platforms on the market but always found they came up short. “For me, Vagaro is a system that I know I can scale with. There’s been systems in the past that just didn’t grow with my business. They didn’t protect my business enough or the software wasn’t growing with my business. Whereas, with this system, there’s just a lot of room for growth,” says Ragbourne.

The right fit

Seeing as Vagaro caters to the solopreneur all the way through to enterprise and multi-location businesses, it makes sense that she’s finally found the right fit with the software. Aside from the scalability, Ragbourne found that the focus was in the right place. Vagaro prioritises the business owner and leaves it up to them to focus on the clientele, which hasn’t always been the case in her experience with other software.

“I couldn’t really customise my previous software very much. For no-show or cancellation fees, if someone wanted to argue, I would always have to back down,” she says, “whereas now, everything is so automatic, they sign forms, and they can’t turn around and say they didn’t know. I feel like my previous software provider did a lot more for the client than for the business.”

Besides the more business-friendly model, Ragbourne also appreciates the many capabilities offered through the Vagaro platform that allow beauty professionals to do more of what they love. Features like inventory management, online booking and in-depth reporting allow owners to spend more time focusing on their craft rather than faffing with the back-end drudgery of business.

And, since processes are so streamlined, Ragbourne has also found time to dedicate toward the educational portion of the industry. She regularly runs classes that help those in the beauty business with their lash and brow training – amission of giving back that is dear to Ragbourne’s heart.

Room for growth

After experiencing such profound loss, making her little girl proud is now Ragbourne’s main priority. Anyone she did business with needed to understand that. When she saw that the Vagaro team recognised her individual journey, she knew the software would be the one to help accelerate her success moving forward.

“The Vagaro team has been super supportive and helped me understand the whole system. It’s been amazing. The people I’ve dealt with have been so personal with my business and getting to know my needs,” says Ragbourne.
