This month your techs have been focusing on perfecting their acrylic nails, especially ironing out any troubleshooting issues such as getting the arch placement right (18%), sealing infills in properly (13%) and getting that bead consistency correct (10%). We also asked what you prefer to use when creating sets and tips came out top with two thirds of the vote, with only 34% preferring forms.

Meanwhile, with the issue of sustainability in the beauty industry back in the spotlight, just under half (43%) of you are now recycling your nail tools instead of throwing them away to reduce the amount of waste going to landfills.

METHODOLOGY Insider is compiled from a monthly survey of spas and beauty salons. The people who participated represent a cross-section of the industry and were polled by email from November 26–December 10, regarding business for the month to November 30. Nail business for the Insider Nails page was calculated from data provided by salons that offer nail services among other treatments. The figures given represent the average score for each answer. Brands are ranked when mentioned by several respondents.
