Professional Beauty’s features editor Georgia Seago won the Best Trade Feature Award at the Johnson & Johnson Awards 2019 – an event which recognises leading beauty journalism across consumer and trade titles. Georgia was presented with a trophy and cash prize for her article examining male- and female-only spaces in spas by presenter Laura Whitmore, and celebrated her win during an intimate breakfast with some of the best journalists in the industry. Guests were also treated to a pick ‘n’ mix of product minis from across Johnson & Johnson’s beauty brands.
3D-LIPO LASERSCULPT LAUNCH

3D-lipo held an exclusive launch party for its latest device LaserSculpt, which offers non-surgical fat reduction and body-contouring, at the company’s headquarters in Rugby. The Professional Beauty team attended the event, which included a speech explaining the science behind the device from managing director Roy Cowley, as well as a prosecco reception, light lunch and treatment demonstrations by 3D-lipo trainers. Salon and clinic owners were also treated to exclusive discounts on the device.
STRAWBERRY LIFT VIP LAUNCH PARTY

Georgia had a fun night mingling with celebrity waxworks including Barack Obama and William Shakespeare at Madame Tussauds, courtesy of Strawberry Laser. Guests took a trip through London’s history on the Spirit of London taxi ride and enjoyed exclusive hire of the venue, with drinks and strawberry-themed canapés. A presentation by plastic surgeon Marc Pacifico and the Laser Lipo team ended in the brand’s celebrity ambassadors being called to the stage – reality TV stars Cara De La Hoyde and Nathan Massey and presenters Lisa Snowdon and Gail Porter.

The penthouse suite in The Shard’s Shangri-La Hotel gave guests a beautiful view of the city at Nouveau Lashes’ event, where Michelle Keegan was announced as the brand’s first ever celebrity ambassador. Editor Eve Oxberry was among select beauty press at the cocktail party, where Keegan was interviewed on stage about her career, beauty routine and why she loves Nouveau’s LVL lash lift treatment. Guests then got to chat to Keegan over a drink before leaving with lash-packed goody bags.
THE ESSENTIALS BEAUTY SALON RELOCATION GRAND OPENING
CASTLE BROMWICH, BIRMINGHAM
The Essentials Beauty salon in Castle Bromwich invited clients old and new to celebrate the business relocating to larger premises due to increased customer demand. The salon has moved from a three-treatment-room site in Bradford Road to a newly renovated two-storey building only 100 yards away on Manor Park Road, which features five treatment rooms, a dedicated pedicure area and large reception with three nail stations. Customers enjoyed prosecco, watched live demos and got to meet the team that make the salon a success, including owner Emma Ginever. The beauty business has been trading for 17 years.
