Blow Ltd to open beauty bars within Debenhams stores

On-demand mobile treatment service Blow Ltd is to open salons within Debenhams stores after receiving investment from the department store chain.

The partnership will see Blow Ltd beauty bars open in key Debenhams stores, giving consumers the option to book express beauty and hair services on the high street as well as to their home through Blow Ltd’s on-demand service.

Founder Fiona McIntosh told Professional Beauty that the first three beauty bars will open in Debenhams’s Oxford Street, Birmingham Bull Ring and Manchester stores before Christmas, followed by an additional five to seven salons in 2018.

She said the eventual goal is to have 50 beauty bars in Debenhams stores across the UK. “It’ll be a slight variation of what we do on demand, with express make-up, nails, blow dries, up-dos and a braid bar,”added McIntosh. Each will have enough space to accommodate groups – a key focus – with room to sit down and enjoy refreshments.

Earlier this year, Debenhams revealed ambitions to generate £1bn a year from its beauty and services sector.
