We trial some new advanced skin treatments, and Skin Rocks Pro releases its first facial protocols

Skin Rocks Pro facials

The much-anticipated initial treatment menu from Skin Rocks Pro comprises six performance-driven facials. The brand, owned by skin therapist and author Caroline Hirons, focuses on protocols to boost hydration, balance breakouts, strengthen the skin barrier, fade hyperpigmentation or restore youthfulness.

While there are six protocols, each can be personalised and all include Skin Rocks Pro’s signature lifting or lymphatic massage. The six facials include The Amplified Facial – a hero treatment, which tackles dullness to energise the skin and luminosity – and The Control Facial, designed to control excess sebum with deep cleansing to refine texture, and help prevent further breakouts. Also on the line-up is The Hydration Facial to support long-term water retention, The Hyperpigmentation Facial to refine skin texture and leave skin brighter, smoother and more uniform; The Regenerative Facial to boost collagen and elastin production; and The Support Facial, which promotes the skin’s natural reparative processes, restoring resilience and boosting barrier strength.

Skin Rocks Pro recommends charging £75 for each of the facials. skinrockspro.com

CACI Skin Revive Treatment

The lowdown: Designed to enhance the skin’s radiance in 30 minutes, CACI’s Skin Revive Treatment combines two new device accessories, the Prep & Glow Oxygenating Pod and the Infusion Atomiser, to boost oxygen delivery to the skin and non-invasively propel serums deep into the dermis, respectively. The experience: I visited Lisa Franklin in Knightsbridge, London – CACI’s flagship in the city – where I was greeted by aesthetic nurse Kené Bolondia. With over five years’ experience in dermatology and aesthetic practice, Bolondia is proficient in a range of laser and skin rejuvenation technologies and has amazing attention to detail and a warm communication style.

CACI’s new Skin Revive Treatment can be carried out as a standalone treatment, or combined with other treatments to create a customised experience based on the client’s needs. In this instance, Bolondia also introduced me to CACI’s Flex Facial, which uses LED light therapy and microcurrent to lift the jawline and sculpt the face. To prepare skin for the first stage of the treatment, a gentle first cleanse is followed up with an application of CO₂ Activator Gel. The Prep & Glow Oxygenating Pod is then attached to the CACI Orbital Abrader handset and worked slowly around the face. While the pod itself contains skin-brightening ingredients such as kojic acid and vitamin C, it also interacts with the activator gel, producing micro-CO₂ bubbles. This triggers the Bohr Effect – a natural process that boosts oxygen delivery to the skin, leaving it visibly refreshed.

It was at this stage that Bolondia performed elements of the Flex Facial, which included a soothing gua sha massage that really allowed me to switch off my mind and focus on being present in the moment.

The second stage of the facial introduces the Infusion Atomiser – a new transdermal delivery applicator (TDA) for the CACI Synergy Flex system. It combines electro infusion, ultrasonic atomisation and LED to enhance product absorption and rejuvenate skin.

The verdict: Bolondia’s skill was evident in her assured yet soothing movements – the perfect balance to generate the sculpting results CACI is known for while ensuring the treatment room was relaxing. However, the biggest takeaway was my glowing skin, plus a reduction in the appearance of fine lines around my eyes and forehead. Business benefits: The treatment is marketed as a non-invasive, vegan alternative to fish-derived polynucleotides – making it ideal for those wary of invasive treatments. Its flexibility also allows salons to adapt the protocol, giving scope to tailor it to the client.

Guinot Hydra Peeling

The new Hydra Peeling treatment focuses on skin renewal and promises visible results in 45 minutes. Tailored to different skin types, it is available in two variations: Hydra Peeling with Hydra pH, an acid-based peel suitable for all skin types, designed to deeply exfoliate, reduce dark spots and brighten skin, or Hydra Peeling with Hydrabrasion, a mechanical peel using natural cellulose particles, suitable for sensitive skin, to gently remove dead cells and smooth texture.

The treatment follows a three-step protocol. First is exfoliation with either Hydra pH Peel or Hydrabrasion Peel to remove dead cells, second comes the Hydra Neuve Massage, a regenerating massage using passion fruit extract to stimulate cellular activity and restore pH balance. Then the final step is application of Hydra Beauté Mask, a soothing peel-off mask with camelina oil and proprietary ingredient ActiCalm to nourish and calm the skin. To extend the benefits of the treatment, Guinot has launched Hydra Peeling Concentrate – sold as a four-week at-home course designed to renew the skin between salon visits.

Tried and tested: Anesi Lab Luminosity Melabright Facial

The lowdown: Anesi Lab has reformulated its Luminosity range, and the star of the line is the Luminosity Melabright professional facial. Designed to target uneven skin tone, pigmentation and dullness, the 60-minute treatment combines brightening actives with innovative spicule technology for skin that looks refreshed, hydrated and radiant. Anesi Lab is exclusively distributed in the UK by HOF Beauty, which also organises training and educational webinars. The experience: The Anesi Lab and HOF Beauty team visited the Professional Beauty office to showcase the treatment, carried out by Anesi Lab trainer Corinne Morley. After a thorough cleanse using the Express Cleansing Milk and Radiance Foaming Gel, Morley applied the Resurface Peel, gently massaging it in with fan brushes before leaving it to work for a few minutes. My skin already felt smoother after this stage, perfectly prepped for the brightening steps that followed.

Next came the Melabright Serum, applied with digi-pressure massage movements to help decongest and boost circulation while infusing the skin with hydrating and brightening ingredients. This was followed by the Melaspot Eraser, used with Anesi’s bio-microneedling technique. The spicules felt unusual, like a prickly, slightly tingling sensation, but not at all uncomfortable. Morley explained that this action creates micro-channels in the skin, allowing the brightening ingredients to penetrate more effectively into areas of pigmentation.

To calm and refresh, she then applied the Melalight Bio-Cellulose Mask, enhanced with a soothing crystal roller massage and a shoulder and scalp massage that left me deeply relaxed. The treatment was finished with a second layer of serum and Luminosity SPF 50 to lock in the results and protect against UV damage. My skin looked a little flushed immediately afterwards, but this subsided quickly, leaving it looking clearer, brighter and more even.

The verdict: This is a results-driven treatment that still manages to feel indulgent thanks to the massage elements and relaxing mask stage. The spicules were definitely a talking point and my skin looked luminous within hours, with redness giving way to a fresh, radiant glow. It’s an ideal treatment for clients concerned with pigmentation or dullness who still want the feel-good factor of a spa-style facial.

Business benefits: The Luminosity Melabright facial offers a targeted solution for one of the most common skin concerns while still delivering visible brightening and hydration benefits for all skin types. With the addition of the spicule bio-microneedling step, it gives clients a memorable experience that feels advanced but not intimidating. The retail products, including the Melabright Serum and Luminosity SPF 50, provide a natural follow-up for homecare, helping salons to boost retail sales and client loyalty.

HOF Beauty recommends charging from £95-100 for the Luminosity Melabright teatment. anesilab.com / hofbeauty.co.uk
