FROM CLINIC to academy

Lucy Astbury, founder of LA Skin Spa and Academy, explains how her partnership with Zemits has enabled her to transform from a clinic owner to a CPD-certified trainer

Before
After

How has your business evolved since opening LA Skin Spa?

“When I first launched, I focused purely on treatments and client results. As the spa grew, I started mentoring others and realised there was a gap in the industry for in-depth, quality training. That’s when LA Skin Academy was born.”

What inspired you to move into education?

“Therapists would ask me how I achieved certain results or grew my business. I wanted to share that knowledge and help them avoid the trial-and-error I went through. Seeing students go on to open thriving skin studios is incredibly rewarding.”

Why did you choose Zemits, and what role does the Verstand HD play?

“I’d tried other brands, but nothing compared to Zemits for reliability and results. The Verstand HD with HydroDiamond technology completely transformed my treatment offering.

“Clients see instant glass-skin glow, and therapists love how streamlined and cost-effective it is. For me, it was a smart step forward.”

How do Zemits devices complement traditional treatments?

“They elevate them. Combining HydroDiamond exfoliation with targeted serums or LED creates next-level results. With multifunctionality in one device, I can blend advanced and classic protocols seamlessly, offering science and skin health together.”

Why do students choose LA Skin Academy, and how important is education in energy-based treatments?

“Students know I’ve walked the same path they’re on. They see real results, client trust, and business growth. Education is crucial – these treatments require more than button-pushing. Being CPD-certified ensures therapists deliver safe, effective, and ethical results while building sustainable businesses.”

A partnership that powers success

From boosting treatment outcomes to shaping the next generation of skin professionals, Zemits has played a key role in LA Skin Spa and Academy’s growth story. With the Signature Glass Skin Facial, powered by HydroDiamond technology, and a thriving academy built on knowledge sharing, Lucy continues to inspire, being a proof that when passion meets innovation, both treatments and careers can thrive.
