Is client loyalty more important than new clients?
@olesyananailss: “Absolutely yes!! New clients can come and go and leave you with an uncertain income. The loyal clients are the ones you know will come religiously... You can look like an amazing tech with all these new clients coming in, but unless you’re able to keep them coming back it doesn’t matter.”
@karis.brelsford:
“Yes in general but both are important – depending on where you are in your business journey, the balance shifts.”

“Client loyalty 💯 . Nothing is more affirming in this business than client referrals and repeat bookings✨.”

Do you offer mates' rates on your services?
@kellyellerose: “Nope, it’s costing the same amount to do their treatment as my clients so they pay the same. Friends and family are also the worst clients – they turn up late, they mess you around, they cancel last minute… Really they should be charged double 😂 . The only person I make an exception for is my mum – her treatments are free because she’s always supported me ❤️.”
@kaylaburrows: “I think friends should want to pay full price to support your business .”
@nails_by_petra_hemel: “Only swaps for different services.”
Hannalie van Dyk: “Absolutely not. Our industry is already seen as a charity institution. If a friend is a true friend they won't want a discount.”

For salon owners, you’ll likely see more day-one sickness absences being claimed, and a larger portion of your team becoming eligible.
