This month we tried… Dermalogica ProBright@home

The lowdown: This virtual experience allows clients to get the benefits of the brand’s in-salon ProBright Facial Treatment at home. On a Zoom call, a Dermalogica expert guides you through how to transform your dull skin with vitamin C-packed products.

The experience: I had my virtual one-to-one session with Dermalogica therapist Theresa Kent while working from home during lockdown 2.0. Before the treatment, I was posted sachets of the products I would need and advised to bring a face cloth and bowl of water to the video call. After a thorough consultation, Kent spent 10 minutes giving me a “skinformation” masterclass, explaining why our complexions become dull and how vitamin C resurfaces the skin, minimises the appearance of pigmentation and deeply hydrates.

We then began the treatment, which involved a double cleanse using Precleanse, then Special Cleansing Gel mixed with Daily Microfoliant. This was followed by application of Rapid Reveal Peel, which I massaged into my face following Kent’s guidance, paying particular attention to areas where it tingled because this meant it was dehydrated.

After three minutes, this was washed off and followed with the brand’s vitamin C hero product Biolumin-C Serum to brighten, with application of Multivitamin Power Recovery Masque on top to deeply hydrate. While this worked its magic, Kent showed me how to perform different facial massage techniques to release tension and stress. Once I’d washed the product off, the treatment ended with application of toner, Biolumin-C Eye Serum, Biolumin-C Serum and Skin Smoothing Cream.

The verdict: My skin looked so much brighter afterwards and I loved the skincare tricks shared.

Business benefits: Offering virtual services is not only a good thing to do during the pandemic for clients who are shielding, but it’s an ideal way for customers to keep up salon results at home in between appointments. It’s also a brilliant way to showcase your therapists’ knowledge because it works as a skin masterclass and treatment in one.
