8 to attend reasons

The industry’s leading event is back at ExCel London on February 25–26 and it’s our 30th birthday so it’s going to be bigger and better than ever. With hot launches and exclusive offers across all sectors, there’s lots to see and do

Professional Beauty London 2018

1 It’s our birthday

Professional Beauty London is turning 30 and we’re doing lots on the show floor to celebrate. To mark our anniversary, we will be hosting exclusive 30th birthday champagne receptions for Exec Club and PB Luxe members; a special-edition Professional Beauty Recognition Awards, which will honour 30 influential figures in the industry; and a 30-day social media countdown, with visitors able to win amazing prizes to boost their business in the run up to the show.

2 First look at what’s new

The show allows you to discover the latest product launches and trends set to impact your business in 2018 and beyond. With more than 800 brands in attendance, its the perfect place to see what’s popular, update your kit bag and save thousands with exclusive trade-only discounts. New exhibitors this year include spa skincare brands Cinq Mondes and Phyts, professional nail care range The Edge Nails, haircare brand Wahl Professional and distributor Ashmira, which looks after wax brand Depiléve and Anesi skincare. See the full list of exhibitors at: professionalbeauty.co.uk/London

3 Support your industry

The Support Our Salons (SOS) campaign will launch for the first time at the London show. The initiative, to help sustain and grow the UK salon industry, includes a two-day SOS seminar programme covering key issues salon owners face, including recruitment, staffing and financing, as well as discussions where panel speakers and delegates can share business anecdotes and solutions.

Plus, there’s a £1,000 prize and lunch with Professional Beauty managing director Mark Moloney to be won in our SOS Competition. To enter, tell us the biggest business challenge you’ve faced and how you overcame it. The winner will be announced at the show. Enter at: professionalbeauty.co.uk/sos

4 Learn from the best

There’s an abundance of world-class education on offer on our Live Stages. New for this year is the Trends and Treatments stage, where the latest product and treatment innovations will be demoed, and the Nutrition and Wellness stage, which will cover how to manage stress, anxiety and depression in the workplace. There will also be tons of make-up trend presentations on the Warpaint stage and talks about microneedling and semi-permanent make-up on the Advanced Treatments stage.

For a more intimate learning environment, check out our seminar programmes – How to, Business Skills, Aesthetic Treatments and the Education Forum – with leading names sharing their top tips and industry expertise. Turn to page 79 for more information. The popular two-day International Manufacturers and Distributors Forum (IMF) will also be returning.

5 Spot the latest spa trends

Calling all spa owners – there will be top-level education and networking available at the World Spa and Wellness Convention. The two-day conference, which takes place as part of PB London, is packed with insight on the trends shaping the industry, from how to make wellness key to repeat business and the new wave of hyper-personalisation, to the rebirth of fitness in spa.

Speakers include Helena Grezsk, director of spa at QHotels; Neil Jacobs, chief executive of Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas; and Kay Pennington, group spa manager at Aqua Sana Center Parcs. For the full line-up and to book your place visit: worldspawellness.com/convention

6 Win a top title

Talented make-up artists and nail techs will be battling it out to be crowned the best in the business at the Warpaint Make-up and International Nail Championships.

In keeping with our 30th birthday celebrations, the categories for both competitions will be 1988 themed – the year the Professional Beauty show launched. For more information on what’s involved, deadlines and how to enter, turn to page 83.

7 Be a VIP for the day
