July delivered a strong summer performance for many spas, with almost two-thirds (65%) reporting better treatment business compared with July 2025 and a further 24% maintaining last year’s levels.
Average treatment room occupancy reached a healthy 68%, suggesting that demand for professional spa and wellness experiences remained resilient during the holiday season.
Retail also provided encouraging results for spas, with 43% of you achieving year-on-year growth and 21% holding steady. Individual spa treatments emerged as the strongest area for summer growth, cited by 58% of respondents, followed by spa days and packages (23%) and memberships (19%).
Operationally, staffing has proven to be the biggest summer headache for many spa operators. Staff shortages and holidays had the greatest impact on 62% of spas during July, considerably ahead of lower client demand (21%) and rising operational costs (17%).
