Dermalux innovation preview

THE LONDONER, LONDON

Dermalux welcomed selected media, including PB editor Eve Oxberry and Aesthetic Medicine editor Kezia Parkins, to a series of small-group sessions where founders Louise Taylor and Huw Anthony unveiled an embargoed innovation set to mark a new chapter for the British LED brand. Guests explored the science behind LED phototherapy before receiving an exclusive first look at Dermalux’s first-ever home-use LED face mask, ahead of its official launch. The founders discussed the technology behind the device and its significance for both professional and at-home skincare, while outlining the brand’s plans for an affiliate programme for professionals to retail the mast to clients for maintenance between treatments. The new LED mask will also make a public appearance at Professional Beauty London on October 4–5, where visitors will have the opportunity to try the device in person.

Beauty & The Best authors evening

IIAA, LONDON

PB’s deputy editor Ellen Cummings joined the Beauty & The Best community for an evening of celebration, connection and industry networking in London. Hosted at IIAA’s headquarters on the banks of the Thames, the event brought together contributors from all three volumes of Beauty & The Best, along with Beauty Directors Club members and special guests for drinks, food and a drinks reception overlooking some of the capital’s most iconic landmarks. It was an opportunity to celebrate some of the voices shaping the professional beauty industry, catch up with familiar faces and meet more of the experts, founders and directors making an impact across beauty, spa, skincare and wellness.

Regenerative Wellness and Aesthetics Council launch

COUNCIL LAUNCH SE1 MEDICAL AESTHETICS, LONDON

Totally Derma hosted the launch of its new Regenerative Wellness and Aesthetics (RAW) Council, bringing together professionals from the fields of aesthetics, nutrition, skin health and longevity. The event introduced the initiative, which aims to support evidence-based education around nutraceutical collagen supplementation and its role in regenerative treatment protocols. Guests, including Eve and PB editorial assistant Connie Cooper, heard from the new council members: nutrition expert May Simpkin, consultant orthopaedic surgeon Mr Lorenzo Garagnani, advanced facialist Smita Ahluwalia, and women’s health and aesthetics doctor Dr Sophie Bracke. A panel discussion covered topics such as gut-skin axis, connective tissue health, hormonal wellbeing and combination treatment plans.

WOLVES OF TOKYO, OLYMPIA, LONDON

Professional Beauty hosted an afternoon of rooftop drinks, bringing together exhibitors and speakers from our recent and upcoming events for an informal networking gathering. The editorial teams from both Professional Beauty and Aesthetic Medicine, alongside the wider team, had the opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces, meet new industry professionals and strengthen relationships in a relaxed setting overlooking the London skyline. During the event, PB’s managing director Mark Moloney unveiled PB’s new 2026 campaign, “At the Heart of The Community”, designed to shine a spotlight on the vital role salons play across the UK in terms of ecomomic and community contribution. Visitors could also check out the brand-new facilities of the redeveloped Olympia complex, which will be home to the new Professional Beauty Spring event next March.

IIAA Salon of the Year Awards 2026

ROSEWOOD LONDON

More than 150 skincare professionals gathered for the IIAA Salon of the Year Awards, celebrating client care, treatment results and business growth across the UK and Ireland. Hosted by broadcaster Zeb Soanes for the sixth consecutive year, the awards recognised outstanding salons, clinics and therapists across a wide range of categories. Alongside the presentations, attendees including Ellen heard inspiring career stories from industry leaders, including DonnaMarie McGrillen, who shared how community engagement and client events have helped grow Vermilion Clinic, and Corinna Tolan, who spoke about using social media to build brand awareness and attract new clients. Former Therapist of the Year Alex Blaikie also reflected on her career journey and the opportunities available within the beauty industry. The evening concluded with the presentation of awards, including Therapist of the Year to Jo Anne O'Neill of Lipstick and Lashes in Belfast.

The Hara Experience

HAMPTON MANOR, SOLIHULL

Waxing supplier Hara Professional welcomed guests to Hampton Manor for The Hara Experience, a day dedicated to education, inspiration and connection within the professional beauty industry. Attendees enjoyed insightful talks from industry speakers, including salon owner and business coach Susan Routledge, and Claire Smith, founder of salon and academy Aspire Beauty in Birmingham, who shared expert knowledge, practical advice and business insights. The event also featured live demonstrations of new Hara innovations, including the Korean Lash Lift and Rubber Base, giving guests the opportunity to discover new techniques and products firsthand. The experience concluded with a relaxed afternoon tea, providing the ideal setting to network, reflect and celebrate a memorable day together.
