Does the weather impact your bookings?
@kirstenstewardbeautyaesthetics:
“I haven’t had cancellations and my clients know there’s a big difference between cooling, hydrating, summer facials and warm, winter steam. I offer a glass of infused water on arrival and at conclusion of treatment and we have a/c👌”
BBeautiful Rugby:
“Definitely! During bad weather (rain) bookings go down and good weather means there are more bookings for everything!”
Stephanie Haines:
“I had a few clients concerned about the heat this summer, but when I told them we have air conditioning, they rocked up early to enjoy the cool down 😂”

How far should a salon owner go to retain top talent in today's competitive market?
@theconfidentbeauty:
“As far as you can go financially and emotionally until it’s not appreciated. Don’t burn yourself out to meet unrealistic expectations 💯”
@ravenshead_beauty:
“I believe as an owner you should go as far as creating an environment where talented people want to stay, not so far that you sacrifice the business, your wellbeing, or fairness to everyone else. Retain talent by providing opportunity, support, training, respect, flexibility where possible, and a workplace people are proud to be part of.”
Jamie-Lee Jones:
“If you're constantly negotiating, bribing or walking on eggshells to keep someone, that's not retaining staff, that's just delaying the inevitable. Fair pay, career progression and feeling genuinely valued will keep most top talent without you needing to go to those lengths.”

Should you be brand neutral?
@the_corneotherapy_ consultant: “When it comes to learning the science behind skin function, I believe it immensely important to be brand neutral. This unbiased knowledge then empowers the therapist to make better informed clinical decisions for the skin in front of them as opposed to just following protocols and predetermined product groupings.”
The Nail & Beauty Lounge: “In 30 years, no client has ever asked what brand nail products or tool we use. The clients don’t care as long as we do a nice job and have a good selection of colours. Whereas with skincare and products, I like being aligned to a brand. There’s no right or wrong way. It depends on your business goals and where you’re heading.
