SHARP STANDARDS GUIDE TO MICRONEEDLING LAUNCH

HOUSES OF PARLIAMENT, LONDON

The Houses of Parliament provided a striking venue for the launch of the Sharp Standards Guide to Microneedling, hosted by Dermalogica in partnership with Babtac and supported by MP Carolyn Harris. Deputy editor Ellen Cummings went along to get the lowdown. The morning centred on a panel discussion exploring the need for clearer guidance and higher standards within the rapidly growing microneedling sector.

Chaired by Dermalogica’s education manager Candice Gardner and Babtac’s chief exeutive Lesley Blair MBE, the panel featured voices including journalist Alice Hart-Davis, alongside skin therapists and clinic owners Jennie Hudson and Gemma Jarvis. Discussion focused on the rise in consumer demand for advanced treatments, alongside concerns around at-home devices and inconsistent regulation. The guide aims to provide a practical framework for therapists to deliver microneedling safely and professionally, while also helping to raise consumer awareness. Set within a formal parliamentary setting, the event highlighted ongoing industry efforts to self-regulate and prioritise safety in the absence of comprehensive UK legislation.

GERMAINE DE CAPUCCINI’S GERMAINE TOWNHOUSE

THE COLUMBIA, LONDON

Germaine de Capuccini hosted an immersive event at The Columbia hotel, offering guests a multi-sensory introduction to the brand’s heritage and latest innovations. Attendees included spa directors, consultants and salon owners who work with the brand, as well as PB editor Eve Oxberry. Designed to offer a journey through different worlds, the experience guided attendees through its Timexpert ranges, longevity-led skincare from Expert Lab, and an interactive workshop where guests created their own moisturiser to take away. After lunch and plenty of time for networking, guests joined the Sperience wellness ritual, which blended sound, aroma and touch to reflect the brand’s spa-focused approach. The day also included a preview of upcoming launch Timexpert Skinrest, which involves a treatment and products focused around Nad+ technology, as well as a panel discussion on technology in the spa environment, with Germaine’s Julie McCann, advanced therapist Smita Ahluwalia and Emma Pridding, spa director at Carden Park in Cheshire.

CELLUMA MYSTIQUE LAUNCH

CLIVEDEN HOUSE, BERKSHIRE

Ellen attended the UK and European launch of Celluma Mystique at Cliveden House, where a small group of press and clients gathered for a morning masterclass and device unveiling. Hosted by Miss Sherina Balaratnam of S-Thetics Clinic, the event featured an in-person presentation from Patrick Johnson, inventor of Celluma, who travelled from the US to introduce the new device. Held in the French Dining Room, the session focused on the science of photobiomodulation and the clinical applications of LED therapy. Johnson outlined the development of the technology and its role in skin regeneration and hair health, before a live demonstration led by Balaratnam.

The newly launched Celluma Mystique is designed for at-home use, combining face and scalp treatment in a single session. The format of the event allowed for detailed discussion and Q&A, offering attendees a closer look at both the device and the wider role of light-based therapies in the beauty industry.

BUFF LASHES REINTRODUCTION

YOTEL MANCHESTER DEANSGATE

Senior content writer Josie Jackson was invited to an intimate gathering with Buff Lashes techs and training partners for an exclusive look at what the brand has lined up. Hosted by Buff Browz and Buff Lashes co-founder Georgie Muscio at the Motley Bar and Restaurant, the event centred on product innovation and hands-on testing, while bringing the brand’s community together to connect.

The event began with an introduction to the brand’s existing products within the Buff Lashes portfolio, before Muscio turned the focus to their new launches, including the Buff Lashes Korean Lash Lift System. Products from the range were on hand for techs to take a closer look at formulation consistencies, along with new lash lift shields.

Muscio then shared thoughts on further new products the brand is working on, before opening up the floor for a discussion on what products the techs feel are missing from the market.

MEDIK8 PRODUCT LAUNCH

FRAMELESS, LONDON

Medik8 held the launch of Professional Exo PDRN at Frameless in central London, hosted by Healthxchange for an audience of clinic owners, KOLs and trade press, including Ellen and Josie. The immersive evening brought together more than 80 guests to preview the brand’s latest professional innovation.

Introduced by education and clinical director Simone Shoffman, the event featured a presentation from Daniel Isaacs, Medik8 co-founder and director of research, who explained the science behind Exo PDRN and its place within regenerative skincare and aesthetic treatments. A panel discussion followed with Dr Sophie Shotter, Dr Bibi Ghalaie, Dr Tara Francis and Nina Prisk, who shared clinical experiences, treatment insights and patient outcomes using the technology in practice. Case studies and discussion focused on skin repair, rejuvenation and treatment integration within clinics.
