SHARP STANDARDS GUIDE TO MICRONEEDLING LAUNCH
HOUSES OF PARLIAMENT, LONDON
The Houses of Parliament provided a striking venue for the launch of the Sharp Standards Guide to Microneedling, hosted by Dermalogica in partnership with Babtac and supported by MP Carolyn Harris. Deputy editor Ellen Cummings went along to get the lowdown. The morning centred on a panel discussion exploring the need for clearer guidance and higher standards within the rapidly growing microneedling sector.
Chaired by Dermalogica’s education manager Candice Gardner and Babtac’s chief exeutive Lesley Blair MBE, the panel featured voices including journalist Alice Hart-Davis, alongside skin therapists and clinic owners Jennie Hudson and Gemma Jarvis. Discussion focused on the rise in consumer demand for advanced treatments, alongside concerns around at-home devices and inconsistent regulation. The guide aims to provide a practical framework for therapists to deliver microneedling safely and professionally, while also helping to raise consumer awareness. Set within a formal parliamentary setting, the event highlighted ongoing industry efforts to self-regulate and prioritise safety in the absence of comprehensive UK legislation.
