TOWARD the light

Uliana Ticu shares how she moved from waxing to a thriving laser hair removal business with Zemits Quidion 3W

We love spotlighting professionals who grow their businesses with the help of innovation and determination. Uliana Ticu is one such success story. Once offering only waxing, she now runs a flourishing laser hair removal business, thanks to strategic upskilling and the Zemits Quidion 3W.

How did your journey in aesthetics began?

“I started my beauty career in 2019, focusing on waxing and sugaring. Business was steady, but by 2021 I noticed more and more clients switching to laser hair removal. I realised I needed to adapt or risk losing my client base. In 2022, I completed my Level 4 Laser and IPL qualification – and it changed everything.”

Why do you think so many clients are now choosing laser over waxing?

“Laser hair removal offers long-term solutions for issues like ingrown hair, excessive growth, and irritation. Many clients were tired of constant shaving and wanted smoother, clearer skin with fewer treatments.”

How do you approach client consultation?

“Every treatment starts with a 15-minute consultation and health assessment. I ensure there are no contraindications and explain what the client can expect before, during, and after the procedure. Preparation includes shaving the area, avoiding creams and sun exposure, and we always do a patch test first.”

You mentioned experimenting with treatment intervals. What did you learn?

“Initially, I followed standard four-week intervals but later tested a customised approach, increasing intervals and laser intensity over time. Results were better and lasted longer. For one test area, regrowth didn’t occur for a year. That taught me the importance of tailoring treatment plans.”

Before and two months after three sessions with Zemits Quidion 3W

Which client transformations are you especially proud of?

“One client had severe facial hair and saw a dramatic improvement after just three sessions. Another had thick growth, but after five sessions, the reduction was significant. I’ve also helped a client with folliculitis in the bikini area. After four sessions, her skin was clearer and healthier. These results are what keep me passionate about what I do.”

Why did you choose Zemits Quidion 3W?

“I researched a lot before deciding. Zemits offered amazing support, high-quality results, and a user-friendly machine. I treat around five clients a day, and after nearly three years, it’s still performing perfectly. Their service reminders and two years of free support saved me time and money.”

What advice would you give to professionals looking to grow?

“Stay flexible and listen to your clients. Don’t be afraid to invest in education and the right equipment. And if you truly care about your clients’ results, word-of-mouth will be your best marketing tool.”
