November brought promising results for many salons, with 29% reporting improved nail treatment business compared to November 2023 and 38% maintaining steady results. Nail product sales were more challenging, but 6% saw growth, while 53% held firm.
Festive nail art is something of a focal point around Christmas and New Year – and 38% of businesses reported moderate demand for seasonal nails while 9% said they see very high interest. As clients embrace such designs, businesses and individual techs have the opportunity to boost both creativity and revenue.
Looking ahead, the industry is optimistic about innovation. A significant 62% of business owners anticipate more innovation in nail health and care, while 21% predict growing demand for customisation and nail art. Sustainability is also on the radar, with 17% expecting increased focus in this area.

Insider is compiled from a monthly survey of spas and beauty salons. The people who participated represent a cross-section of the industry and were polled by email and social media from November 29 to December 9, regarding business for the month to November 30. Nail business for the Insider Nails page was calculated from data provided by salons that offer nail services among other treatments. The figures given represent the average score for each answer. Brands are ranked when mentioned by several respondents.
