Dermalogica press event

Dermalogica Head Office, Leatherhead PB content writer Ellen Cummings went along to the skincare brand’s exclusive trade press day, hosted at its refurbished head office. The event was a full immersion in all things Dermalogica, with an insight into its charity partnerships and sustainability initiatives, an overview of its advanced skill set training for undergraduate therapists, and a peek at some exciting new product launches due to come out later this year.

Attendees were also treated to a live demonstration of the recently launched Dermalogica Pro Pen microneedling treatment, as well as an in-depth skin health check featuring face mapping and skin analysis, with visitors leaving the event with three products specifically chosen to treat their skin concerns.

Sephora store launch

Westfield White City, London When Sephora made its much-anticipated return to the UK with its first store in 18 years, PB’s editor Eve Oxberry and content writer Lollie Hancock were among the first to check it out at the pre-launch party, where there was a surprise in-store performance from girl group Sugababes. Other celeb guests included Towie star Gemma Collins, Love Island’s Ekin-Su and drag queen Bimini. There was a sneak preview of what’s on offer in the store including professional make-up services from a Sephora University trained team, plus a menu of express skin treatments from brands including Dermalogica, Glow Recipe, Elemis, Sisley and Seasonly. Guests left with a signature striped goody bag packed with products from brands including pro favourites Elemis, Murad and more.

Hydrafacial Syndeo launch

Hydrafacial flagship, London To celebrate the launch of new device Syndeo, Hydrafacial hosted a party at its central London flagship on April 5. Guests, including the teams from PB and sister mag Aesthetic Medicine, were treated to canapés and signature cocktails (including the “Gunkie Gimlet”), portraits by graphic artist Barbara Malagoli, and Kiss FM DJs The Dixon Brothers on the decks. The event was introduced by TV presenter Cherry Healey before Hydrafacial’s UK country manager Lauren Gibson explained how the new device works, including its enhanced personalisation features and simplified controls. Collective Pride Awards 2023

Barber Surgeons’ Hall, London The winners of the Collective Pride Awards 2023 were crowned at a ceremony on April 3, with the media support of Professional Beauty, HJ and Modern Barber. Created by Lion’s Barber Collective (LBC) founder and mental health trainer Tom Chapman, the awards recognise beauty and hair professionals who go above and beyond to help clients in times of need – often when they are struggling with their mental health. Guests, including PB Group’s Jayne Lewis-Orr, Charlotte Grant-West and Sian Jones, heard the heart-warming stories of winners, including The Hair & Beauty Charity beneficiary executive Sarah Hashim, winner of the My Saviour Award, and Exceptional College Award winner South Devon College, whose hair and beauty students have completed mental health training.

Et Al brand launch

180 The Strand, London IIAA invited its salon partners, and PB content writer Lollie Hancock, to 180 The Strand to reveal its latest launch, make-up brand Et Al. The make-up brand promises to be “a better one”, with heavy focus on skin health and supporting the investment made by consumers into good skin through skincare and supplements.

Attendees were the first to see the brand in the flesh, with head of brand Anushka Patel leading the reveal and running a demonstration on how to use the products. IIAA also revealed its new Et Al ambassadors, who include make-up artists Justine Jenkins and Kenneth Soh. Discover more about Et Al on page 84.
